TORONTO - Canadian-born CNN anchor John Roberts is used to earning accolades.

He's been recognized with three Emmy Awards, a National Headliner Award and an Edward R. Murrow award.

And today he'll be inducted into the broadcast industry hall of fame at Canadian Music Week.

Roberts became a U.S. citizen following the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, though he retained his Canadian citizenship.

Roberts first started making a name for himself in 1980 as one of the people who helped get MuchMusic's "The NewMusic" off the ground.

He now co-anchors "American Morning" on CNN.

Despite his widespread recognition, Roberts says his favourite award came from a U.S. conservative think tank who named him the worst correspondent of the first 100 days of George W. Bush's presidency.
