Firefighters battle three-alarm house fire downtown

Firefighters have gotten a three-alarm fire under control in the downtown area.

Firefighters have extinguished a three-alarm fire that engulfed two homes near Bloor and Crawford Streets in downtown on Friday afternoon.

Extra fire crews were called to battle the blaze at a three-storey building on 804 Bloor Street West. Flames of the blaze, which started on the ground floor at about 4 p.m., could be seen from a distance.

The building had two levels of apartments above.

There are no reports of injuries. It is unknown what caused the fire, but the building has sustained extensive damages.

The Fire Marshall's office is investigating the incident.
