Where Sonny Stands on the Big Issues Facing Toronto:

1. What are your thoughts on Transit City?

"I support Transit City if the delay is only one or two years it is still doable. It costs a lot more money for a subway than for a light rail transit. So this is the way to go, as it will expand out to Etobicoke and Scarborough."

2. Bike lanes have become a heated topic during this campaign. Where do you stand on the issue?

"I am supportive of bike lanes because it makes things safer for people on bikes if they travel a certain distance they will appreciate the lanes."

3. How do you feel about the idea of charging road tolls?

"I'm opposed to road tolls I think it's committing political suicide going that way with the five dollar route. We need to build transit to encourage people to get out of their cars. The alternative is to promote car pooling so that there is more people in the vehicle instead of one."

4. How do you plan on cleaning up the city?

"I would reach out to young people to get them to volunteer to get the city clean. Maybe encourage children in kindergarten to clean up their play space so it gets into their mind that they should keep things clean. Encourage young people not to spit out their gum on the sidewalk, but throw it out in the garbage."

5. How do you plan on bringing "new life" to the city?

"I personally enjoy the arts. I promote arts and culture."

6. How do you feel about the crime level in Toronto? How do you plan on addressing it?

"I believe the crime levels are going down in Toronto so I would devote more money towards prevention, working with young males aged 18- 30. I am proposing a department of peace and conflict resolution to deal with domestic incidents between men and women."

7. How important is accountability while you are in office and how do you plan on monitoring this?

"I would be a ‘HOT' mayor. HOT Stands for Honest, Open and Transparent. So If I were elected I would let people know what I'm doing and I would be very careful with what I say so I'm not in any water."

8. What are your plans for the city's budget including property taxes?

"I plan to have a balanced budget each and every year. If you see the Liberals they have a $20 billion deficit and the federal Conservatives have a $50 billion deficit so they don't manage things well. Toronto's debt is manageable because we have a growing population who will pay for more."
