Three TTC bus drivers have been fired after they were caught texting behind the wheel last week.
Commuters had snapped pictures of the drivers committing the offence -- one while driving, and the other while stopped in traffic. The images became a viral sensation, prompting a response from TTC officials.
CTV News confirmed that the drivers were let go, after reports surfaced earlier this week.
Texting and driving has been illegal in Ontario for a little more than a year now.
Last Friday, TTC spokesperson Brad Ross said swift action would be taken against the employees.
Ross said the TTC already had a long-standing policy against the use of mobile phones while on the job.
