CP24.com readers were asked to share their Remembrance Day stories with us, whether they participated in the war or grew up with a loved one in service. These are their memories and the photos that have defined their experience.

Memories

Hello my name is Tiffany Theriault and this is a photo of my Grandmother Stella embracing a tiny moment of peace during World War Two.

As a 20-year-old woman growing up in England, she did not want to face conscription and therefore signed up on her own and that way had a say in where she was going.

She worked in the fields of Northern England throughout the war, and eventually met my Grandfather Leo, a Canadian soldier. They married in England and came to Canada shortly after the war ended.

Being only 20-years-old myself, I often wonder if I could have the courage and strength that my Grandparents possessed at this age.

Thank you for this opportunity to send in our stories and pictures regarding Remembrance Day. It is a day that I always remember my Grandparents, both have passed on now, and the wonderful and courageous things they did for not only our family, but for the people of their countries.
