TORONTO - Arcade Fire fans in Toronto are eagerly awaiting two hastily-announced shows in the city.

News of the concerts on Friday and Saturday night were teased at online during the week and finally announced Wednesday.

Fans who hoped to get in were told they'd have to line up on the day of the show to get a ticket. And the band was strictly restricting tickets to one per person.

The band is coming off playing two other surprise concerts in Montreal.

One was held at a tiny, intimate venue and the other was at a suburban parking lot, where thousands of fans showed up for the free show.

The band's new album, called "The Suburbs," is due for release on Aug. 3.

Arcade Fire will return to Canada for some shows later this summer, including gigs at the Ottawa Bluesfest on July 13, the Osheaga Festival in Montreal on July 31 and Olympic Island in Toronto on Aug. 14.
