Canadian comedian Nathan Fielder is the first to admit he's likely the least qualified candidate to host a U.S. election TV special.

But with his attempt at doing just that hitting the Comedy Network on Saturday, he's honest about what kind of viewers might gain the most from his insights.

"If you like interesting people and you like to laugh, and you don't really want to hear about politics ... then this is the special for you," says Fielder, a This Hour Has 22 Minutes correspondent known for his deadpan interview style and "Nathan on Your Side" segment.

"I think the candidates names are mentioned, like, five times."

Initially from Vancouver, Fielder lived in Toronto for two years before securing his 22 Minutes gig and moving out east about a year ago.

Fielder brings his signature charm -- as possibly the most socially-awkward reporter on Canadian television -- to the interviews in his upcoming special.

A Comedy Network news release describes the show as "a series of hilariously uncomfortable interviews with everyone from a political pollster to a top American economist."

Fielder describes it as "interviews that kind of veer off into ways that bring out (the subjects') personalities... Trying to get people to let their guards down, mostly."

"I also do skateboarding tricks in between the interviews. Some are good, some are bad. I'm trying."

Nathan Fielder's U.S. Election Special airs on the Comedy Network on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 10 p.m.
