Riding Profile: London West
The Riding
London West is a well-established riding that has been represented at Queen’s Park since 1999. It was created out of the London South riding. Today the riding stretches from the western limit of the city along Dingman Creek, Southdale Road West, Wharncliffe Road South, Commissioners Road East, the Canadian National Railway, the Thames River, Wharncliffe Road North, Oxford Street West and Wonderland Road North.
Though the riding supported Conservative leadership in the early part of the decade, it turned red in 2003, when the Liberals came into power.
A byelection was called when MPP Chris Bentley resigned from his seat.
