Jurors have begun deliberations in the trial of a man charged with second-degree murder in the Boxing Day 2005 death of teenager Jane Creba.

The man, now 20, was under 18 at the time of the shooting and can only be identified as J.S.R.

He has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge, six counts of aggravated assault and weapons charges.

Justice Ian Nordheimer made his charge to the jury Wednesday afternoon and this morning.

The Crown alleges that J.S.R. was one of two people in his group firing guns on a crowded downtown Toronto street during the melee that killed Creba.

J.S.R. was arrested the same day as the shooting with a 9-mm handgun, but his lawyer Gary Grill says the real shooter of that gun passed it to J.S.R. after the shooting.
