The Toronto Maple Leafs have locked up goaltender James Reimer.

Reimer's agent, Ray Petkau, confirmed Thursday that his client has signed a three-year extension with the club.

The 23-year-old netminder led a surprising turnaround for the Maple Leafs in the second half of the 2010-11 season after starting the campaign with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.

Reimer posted 20-10-5 in 37 games with the big club, but Toronto still missed the playoffs.

The Morweena, Man., native, who was set to become a restricted free agent July 1, also represented Canada at the recent world hockey championship in Slovakia.
