Six of Toronto's mayoral candidates faced off for the first time Monday night in a question and answer session in Scarborough.

Held at Mary Ward Catholic Secondary School, the event was organized by Coun. Mike Del Grande to give people in his ward the chance to hear from the candidates.

Georgio Mammoliti, Joe Pantalone, Rocco Rossi, George Smitherman, Sarah Thompson and Rob Ford were those invited to speak at the event.

It didn't take long for the meeting to get interesting. Shortly after it started, a man burst into the room, dressed in a Middle Eastern-style robe and carrying a staff before revealing a suit underneath.

He began shouting at the candidates as George Smitherman was answering a question about taxation policy, although Smitherman appeared unfazed. The man was quickly ushered out of the room by five police officers and the event continued.

Many of those present appeared to be dedicated supporters of one of the candidates.
