OTTAWA - The unbeaten McMaster Marauders retained their hold on top spot in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport football rankings Tuesday.

The reigning Vanier Cup champions were a unanimous No. 1 pick after completing the regular season with a perfect 8-0 record. The Marauders closed out their campaign with a 43-0 rout of Wilfrid Laurier last weekend.

The Laval Rouge et Or (7-1) rose one spot to No. 2 while Calgary (6-1) fell one position to No. 3. Montreal (7-1) and Guelph (7-1) remained fourth and fifth, respectively.

Queen's (6-2), Regina (5-2), Western (5-3), Acadia (6-1) and Manitoba (4-3) rounded out the top 10.

Playoffs in the Ontario conference begin Saturday. Regular season play wraps up this week in the other three CIS conferences.
