Charges pending following crash

Charges are pending against a man whose vehicle crashed into a pole when he apparently fell asleep behind the wheel, Toronto police say.

The crash occurred in the southbound lanes of Leslie Street, between Lawrence and Eglinton avenues, early Friday morning.

Police told CP24 the car veered off the road and crashed into a pole, which came down across the southbound lanes. The man wasn't seriously injured.

The southbound lanes were blocked for some time as crews repaired the pole.
