TORONTO -- Prime Minister Stephen Harper is in Toronto today to say hello to two of the country's newest visitors.

Harper will be on hand to greet two giant pandas, who are arriving after a nearly day-long flight from China.

The male and female bears will live at the Toronto Zoo for five years before relocating to the Calgary Zoo for the same length of time.

The cuddly-looking pandas are on loan from the Chinese government as a sign of warmer diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Officials say they hope the pandas will mate during their time in Canada.

The Toronto Zoo says the pandas will go into immediate quarantine and have not said when they'll be accessible to the public.
