A man is in hospital with serious injuries after a car crashed into a barrier at a construction site early Monday morning.

Toronto police told CP24 investigators are eyeing speed as a possible factor in the single-vehicle crash, which occurred at Keele Street and Finch Avenue West about 3 a.m.

It’s believed the car was travelling north on Keele Street when it crashed into a temporary barrier at the site of a subway expansion project.

The crash shut down the intersection of Keele Street and Finch Avenue West until 5:20 a.m.
