The daughter of an elderly Vaughan couple attacked during a home invasion this past weekend says she’s stunned someone would be capable of such brutality.

The woman, who only wanted her first name – Ana – published, fought back tears as she spoke out against the attack.

Her parents, who are 75 and 79 years old, were tied up and beaten by two people who broke into their home and stole Christmas presents from under their tree.

“Everything that you can possibly imaging happening to your parents happened for no reason,” Ana told CTV Toronto Monday.

The woman said she doesn’t believe her parents were targeted.

“We’re still baffled as to why they would do this to anybody, let alone two elderly people.”

The suspects took cash, jewelry and a ring off one of the victim’s finger as well as wrapped presents.

The 79-year-old man spent his birthday in hospital today and will likely stay there for Christmas.
