Toronto police say a man is facing a murder charge in the death of a 49-year-old man, who was found dead in an Etobicoke apartment block Wednesday morning.

Police found the victim’s body in a suite on Arbordell Road, near Kipling Avenue and Westhumber Boulevard, shortly after a 911 call was placed at about 8 a.m., said homicide squad Det. Sgt. Justin Vander Heyden.

The call was made after a frantic woman, who was in the apartment where the homicide occurred, knocked on a neighbour's door, the detective said.

Vander Heyden said the victim suffered blunt force trauma. An autopsy is scheduled to confirm the cause of death.

A suspect was taken into custody as he attempted to flee the scene, Vander Heyden said.

A 39-year-old man is facing a murder charge.

The 49-year-old man is Toronto's 11th homicide victim of 2013.
