A pedestrian is dead after she was struck and killed by a tractor trailer in Hamilton early Friday.
The woman was struck on Highway 6 near Chippewa Road in Mount Hope around 4 a.m., Ontario Provincial Police told CP24.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her exact age was not immediately available.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, police said. No charges are expected to be laid.
A stretch of Highway 6 is expected to remain closed in both directions between Chippewa Road and Upper James Street for some time as a result of the incident.
