Peel Regional Police say one man faces charges of assault and threatening death, while another man faces weapon charges after a domestic incident that occurred in Mississauga last Friday.
On Friday, Aug. 14 at 3:20 p.m., police said they responded to residence on Britannia Road in Mississauga for a report of a domestic incident.
A 25-year-old Mississauga man was taken into custody and accused of domestic assault. A 25-year-old female from Toronto was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Further information obtained by police led them to search the accused’s car and two other residences in Mississauga.
Police seized eight firearms, including an assault-style rifle, a pocket-sized .38 calibre pistol and several other long guns and shotguns during the searches.
Anthony Paul DiFlorio was charged with two counts of assault, pointing a firearm, uttering a threat, forcible confinement, overcome resistance by choking, and numerous weapons offences.
He appeared in a Brampton courtroom on Monday for a bail hearing.
Jeffrey Cabral DaSilva, 32, of Mississauga faces several weapons charges and a drug possession charge releated to one of the police searches.
