Police are frantically searching for a 63-year-old man who was stabbed at a west-end subway station early Friday morning.

The man, identified as Safdhar Rahim, was seen riding the Bloor line while bleeding profusely.

At around 1:10 a.m, police received a call about a man bleeding at Christie Station. Then, four minutes later, they received a call about man who was stabbed getting off the train at Ossington Station.  Police were able to spot him on TTC surveillance cameras at Castle Frank Station at around 1:33 a.m. He hasn’t been seen since.

Toronto police say they are concerned because there was a lot of blood at the scene and believe he was gravely injured. They believe he was injured during a fight with two other commuters.

They were able to identify him because his family reported him missing and a toll collector was able to recognize him. Rahim is also known to police and is a familiar face on the TTC.

Rahim was last seen bleeding profusely from his leg. He was wearing a black baseball cap, a brown jacket and blue jeans. The man is five-foot-five, with a medium build and short salt-and-pepper hair and a goatee.

Police have been searching local hospitals and going through other surveillance cameras in the area hoping for a lead on his whereabouts.
