Doug Ford may get a second mayoral debate under his belt Monday at an event hosted by ArtsVote.

Jeff Silverstein, a spokesperson for Ford’s campaign, told CP24 Sunday that the mayoral candidate will be in attendance alongside rival candidates Olivia Chow and John Tory.

While canvassing Sunday, Ford would not confirm to reporters if he intended to participate in the arts debate but said he plans to attend every debate he “possibly can.”

“I’m going to be at as many debates… almost all of them that I can, permitting the schedule,” he said.

“You have to understand that the first week was just trying to get the campaign off the ground, get it organized. This week we are off to the races so we are ready.”

Ford has recently been criticized by both Chow and Tory for his absence at a number of debates over the past couple of weeks.

Ford disappointed organizers of debate hosted by the Empire Club of Canada on Friday by pulling out 90 minutes before the event was scheduled to start.

In response to Ford's absence, John Tory released a statement last week indicating that he may be limiting the number of debates he participates in if all three candidates don’t agree to show up.

“(Tory) can call me all the names he wants. He calls me a chicken, that’s fine. I’ll stand up for the people,” Ford said.

“I’m going to hold him accountable for the next 20 debates. That is one thing I can assure you.”

The debate is scheduled to get underway at TIFF Bell Lightbox at 12 p.m. tomorrow.
