Firefighters and police are on the scene of an active three-alarm fire that has spread to multiple homes near York University.
Crews were called to a home near Bowsfield and Sentinel roads a short time ago.
The fire has since spread to the roofs of neighbouring homes, firefighters said. A number of residences have been evacuated as a result.
Gas has also been shut off in the area.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known. No injuries have been reported.
Firefighters and police remain at the scene.
