Jian Ghomeshi is facing three new sexual assault charges after more complainants came forward with allegations against the former CBC Radio host.

Ghomeshi, who made a brief appearance at the College Park Courthouse this morning, is now facing a total of seven counts of sexual assault and one count of overcoming resistance, choking.

Ghomeshi, who did not say a word to reporters, has not yet entered a plea but his lawyer Marie Henein said Thursday he will be pleading not guilty to all the charges.

Henein previously told reporters that they intended to address the allegations "fully and directly in a courtroom" but said they would not be making comments about the case in the media any further.

"It is not my practice to litigate my cases in the media and this one will be no different. We will say whatever we have to say in a court of law," she said.

A judge renewed Ghomeshi's bail Thursday and the three new complainants have been added to the order. Other conditions of his release include surrendering his passport and residing with his mother Sarah Azar Ghomeshi.

Ghomeshi is scheduled to return to court on Feb. 4.

The former 'Q' host was fired by the CBC in October and the network later said it saw "graphic evidence" that he caused physical injury to a female.

In the weeks that followed, several women came forward in the media, detailing allegations that Ghomeshi sexually abused and physically assaulted them.

In a Facebook post Ghomeshi released shortly after he was fired, he admitted to engaging in "rough sex" but said it was always consensual.
