Man pinned under sheets of metal

A 26-year-old man is in hospital after he was trapped under heavy sheets of metal in an industrial accident in Port Severn on Wednesday afternoon.

The extent of the man's injuries isn't known. He was injured at a property on Anderson Line at about 12:30 p.m.

Ornge officials told CP24 an air ambulance was being sent to the scene but the crew was called off because the victim was transported to a local hospital by a ground ambulance instead.

The property belongs to Wally's Mechanical Services, according to a CTV Barrie report.

Because the incident occurred at a workplace, Ministry of Labour officials will conduct an investigation.
