A boy is currently in hospital after being shot in Oshawa Thursday night.
According to Durham police, it happened in the Colborne and Centre streets area shortly after 10:30 p.m.
The circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately clear.
Preliminary information provided by police said the boy, believed to be seven years old, was shot in the buttocks.
The severity of his injuries was not immediately known.
No one is currently in custody in connection with the shooting, police said.
Police continue to investigate.
