York Regional Police have charged a 42-year-old man after an elderly woman was struck and killed by a York Region Transit bus in Richmond Hill.
The 75-year-old woman was hit on Yonge Street, north of Major Mackenzie Drive, on Sept. 9 while trying to cross the street. She was rushed to hospital but later died from her injuries.
Police say the bus driver, who was uninjured, remained on the scene.
Ardeshir Espah-Angizi, of Richmond Hill, has been charged with careless driving and failing to yield to a pedestrian.
