One man is in hospital in serious condition after a shooting at a Toronto Community Housing building near Dundas and Sherbourne streets Sunday night.

Toronto EMS says the male victim was shot multiple times, sustaining gunshot wounds to both his leg and arm,  at around 5:45 p.m. Sunday.

The male was conscious and breathing when he was taken to St. Michael's Hospital by paramedics, Toronto police confirm.

According to investigators, the shooting occurred in the courtyard behind a Toronto Community Housing building located at 251 Sherbourne Street.

Police say they are questioning multiple people but believe there was only one shooter involved in the incident.

No suspects are in custody at this time.

Saturday night's shooting is not the first time the apartment building has been the scene of a violent attack.

In April, one person suffered life-threatening injuries at the housing complex after being stabbed multiple times in the head and neck.
