A 65-year-old man is facing charges after he allegedly stole women’s underwear from a bedroom drawer during an open house in Markham last month.
Police say they were called to a residence in the area of Major Mackenzie Drive and McCowan Road on July 26 after a victim, whose home was for sale, reported the theft.
According to police, surveillance camera footage captured a suspect stealing women’s underwear from a drawer in the master bedroom during an open house at the home.
The suspect was later identified and on July 31 police executed a search warrant at his home, where they located an additional quantity of women’s underwear.
Investigators are asking any real estate agents or homeowners who are aware of similar thefts to come forward.
Siu-But Chui is charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.
