All lanes on Highway 400 have reopened near Bradford following numerous weather-related collisions in the area.

All southbound lanes and two northbound lanes between Highway 88 and Highway 9 were closed at around 10:15 a.m. in light of a number of minor collisions resulting from black ice and blowing snow on the roadway.

The highway then reopened at around 11:55 a.m. after salt trucks made their way along the highway.

“Unfortunately that area of the highway has been very slippery. We have had blowing snow across the highway, ice is building up and as a result we have had multiple collisions with vehicles going into the ditch, spinning out and just getting into trouble,” Sgt. Kerry Schmidt told CP24. “We just need to have everyone adjust their driving to match these conditions. It is treacherous out there.”
