A 25-year-old man is facing a number of charges, including firearms related charges, after he was allegedly found unconscious behind the wheel of a car in Downsview.

Just after 6 a.m. on Sunday, police received a call about an impaired driver who had pulled into a gas station near Keele Street and George Appleton Way.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a man asleep in the driver’s seat of a car. The driver apparently had vomited inside the vehicle.

Police said a search of the car allegedly yielded a loaded .45 calibre pistol.

In a news release Monday, police distributed images of the weapon that was allegedly seized.

Tylor Lansdowne-Thomas of Toronto has been charged with impaired care and control of a motor vehicle, over 80mgs impaired care and control of a motor vehicle, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded restricted weapon, possession of a restricted firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized and possession of a dangerous weapon.

He is scheduled to make an appearance in court sometime Monday morning.
