A Vaughan man who hadn’t been seen for three days has been found in Toronto after being spotted by a hospital nurse who saw his image on CP24, York Regional Police say.

Thirty-three-year-old Mark Lorenzoni was last seen when he left his residence in the Major Mackenzie Drive and Islington Avenue area at around 8 a.m. on Sunday.

Const. Andy Pattenden said Lorenzoni was found in good health in the City of Toronto on Wednesday afternoon.

Due to the recent high temperatures, his family and police were concerned for his safety.

In a statement issued late Wednesday afternoon, Lorenzoni’s family said they were “deeply grateful” for all the prayers and support they have received.

“The Lorenzoni family is deeply grateful for the support, prayers and thoughts from family and friends near and far with a particular thank you to the news media for their help and everyone at York Regional Police for their thorough professionalism and sensitivity,” the statement said. “Mark is currently being treated in hospital . He was recognized by a hospital nurse who saw the news on CP24.”

Police believe Lorenzoni may have gotten lost while walking, and was unlikely to ask a stranger for directions.

"He was brought by ambulance to St. Joe's Hospital," Maria Lorenzoni told CP24's Christina Tenaglia Wednesday. "He was badly sunburned and disoriented."
