An 11-year-old boy has died after being struck by a dump truck east of Toronto Thursday afternoon, Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed.
It happened on County Road 45, near Coyle road, northeast of Cobourg at around 3:30 p.m.
No other vehicles were involved.
The child was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died.
There was no immediate word from police if charges would be laid in connection with the incident.
County Road 45 remains closed between Merrill and Coyle roads as police continue to investigate.
