Toronto police are asking the public to help find a 23-year-old man who went missing Friday afternoon.

Rick Hazard was last seen around 1:30 p.m. in the Jane Street and Eglinton Avenue West area, close to where he lives. Hazard has autism and police say he operates at the mental capacity of a young child.

The young man recently moved to Canada with his family from Grenada and this is the fourth time he has disappeared in under three months. Twice before he was found on TTC property, once at a bus stop and another time on a bus. He has always been found close to home in the west end of the city.

Police say he may reach out to touch other people’s hands out of curiosity, but the behaviour is not threatening.

Hazard is described as black with a thin build, about 5'10" and 134-145 lbs., with short black hair and brown eyes. When last spotted he was wearing a grey jacket, light-coloured pants and blue and white running shoes. He was carrying a black backpack.

Police have conducted three foot searches in the last 24 hours and have set up a command post in the area so anyone with information can come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-1200 or to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
