Those who are counting down the hours until opening day at Canada’s Wonderland could be in for a wet ride on Sunday when the amusement park opens its gates for the season.

Park goers should be prepared to brave the rain as Environment Canada is predicting a 40 per cent chance of showers and a high of 13C.

The Vaughan theme park has 69 rides and this year, visitors can try out a new interactive rolleroaster called “Wonder Mountain’s Guardian.”

The attraction takes riders 1,000 feet up the side of Wonder Mountain and thrusts them in the middle of a battle between 3D mythical creatures in the mountain’s core. For the finale, riders make a trip to a dragon’s lair.

Starting June 21, the park will also feature “Dimensions: A Cirque Experience” which showcases acrobatic feats at Wonderland Theatre.

The park will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday and ticket information can be found at www.canadaswonderland.com.
