A suspect in the fatal stabbing of a 19-year-old man in Mississauga on Saturday has turned himself over to police.

According to Peel Regional Police, paramedics found a man with life-threatening stab wounds on Harrowsmith Drive in Mississauga at around 2:10 p.m. Saturday.

The victim, identified as 19-year-old Hamza Lamadani, was rushed to hospital but later died from his injuries, police said.

Investigators said Hamza was stabbed following an altercation on Webb Drive, which is located approximately two kilometres from where he was found.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of a 19-year-old suspect in connection with the murder on Sunday, with police warning that he might be armed and dangerous.

On Sunday evening Peel police announced that the suspect had turned himself in.

Mohamed Nasr of Mississauga surrendered to police on Sunday afternoon and is expected to be charged with first-degree murder, police said in a news release.

He is set to make a court appearance in Brampton on Monday.
