A Toronto man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the disappearance of a Markham woman who went missing in June.

Ying Chun (Annie) Li, 36, was last seen by family members on June 12 in the area of Denison Street and Markham Road.

York Regional Police have said that the investigation has led them to believe that Li is deceased.

On Aug. 2, police issued a warrant for a suspect wanted for manslaughter in connection with Li’s disappearance.

On Thursday police managed to track down the suspect to a residence on Alicewood Drive in Markham. He was arrested without incident.

Jiarui (Jerry) Tang, 21, has been charged with manslaughter, police said.

He was denied bail when he appeared in a Newmarket courtroom on Thursday afternoon.
