Do you have the guts to take a walk on the wild side?

Starting Monday, a new attraction will give thrill seekers a chance to walk on the CN Tower's edge, about 350 metres or 116 storeys above ground.

With spectacular views of Toronto and Lake Ontario, EdgeWalk allows people to walk around the outdoor edge of the tower's main pod at a cost of $175 before taxes.

CN Tower officials said reservations for the first public walk filled up quickly when booking lines opened June 1. People from across Ontario, New York and Rhode Island will be among the first to try Edge Walk.

To give the public a sneak peak, CP24's Nathan Downer was one of the first people to take a walk around the main pod when he appeared on CP24 Breakfast on Wednesday.

The extreme, open-air attraction is the first of its kind in North America and it marks the CN Tower's 35th anniversary.

Adrenaline junkies can walk "hands free" in groups of six to eight on a 1-5-metre ledge while attached to an overhead safety rail via a trolley and harness system.

The system means people can lean back and safely balance over the ground below, if they dare.

CN Tower officials said the attraction has been designed and developed with the utmost safety and security in mind.
