BELLEVILLE, Ont. - Provincial police used a helicopter today to expand the search for a Belleville woman who's been missing for several days.

Jessica Elizabeth Lloyd was last heard from at 10:30 p.m. Thursday after sending a text message, and she never showed up for work the next day, which alarmed relatives who say it's uncharacteristic of her.

After an unsuccessful ground search on Saturday, provincial police expanded the search, which has included officers from several police forces including Rawdon, Belleville and Stirling.

CFB Trenton also assisted with search and rescue operations that extended through Saturday night around Highway 37 and Harmony Road, but gave no explanation about why the investigation is taking that track.

Friends and acquaintances distributed flyers around the Belleville area and set up at least three Facebook groups to spread the word about Lloyd's disappearance.

Her friends say Lloyd's purse and her glasses were still in the apartment when they went there to check for her.
