ALTINOZU, Turkey - UN envoy Angelina Jolie is travelling to Turkey's border with Syria, where she will meet some of the more than 9,600 refugees who have fled a bloody crackdown on Syrian anti-government protesters.

The Hollywood celebrity and goodwill ambassador for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees is expected to arrive in the Turkish province of Hatay on Friday afternoon.

Turkish authorities were hanging a 15 metre- (16 yard-) long banner near the entrance of the camp to welcome Jolie. The banner reads: "Goodness Angel of the World, Welcome."

In April, Jolie travelled to Tunisia during its refugee crisis as thousands fled from its war-torn neighbour, Libya.
