TORONTO - The jury at the Stefanie Rengel murder trial in Toronto will continue their deliberations Friday.

Jurors began deliberating Wednesday afternoon in the trial of the 17-year-old girl, who is charged with first-degree murder in Rengel's death.

Rengel was just 14 when she was stabbed six times and found bleeding in the snow outside her parents' house on New Year's Day 2008.

Prosecutors say the accused used the Internet, text messages and sexual blackmail to pressure her boyfriend into killing Rengel.

The defence has argued the jury shouldn't draw murderous intent from the messages sent over the Internet and by phone.

The boyfriend, now 19, faces trial in the fall, also on a charge of first-degree murder.

The jury will reconvene at 8:30 a.m. Friday.
