A man who was already out on bail for two counts of attempted murder has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Brampton last year, police say.
The shooting took place on March 9, 2024 in the parking lot of 51 McMurchy Avenue near Queen Street West.
A man was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at the scene. Police said he survived his injuries.
In a news release on Thursday, police said that the suspect in the shooting was arrested on Jan. 26.
Travarn Atkinson, 24, of Mississauga is charged with attempted murder using a firearm. The charges have not been tested in court.
At the time of his arrest, police say Atkinson was on release for two counts of attempted murder and multiple firearms offences stemming from summer 2024.
