Police have issued an arrest warrant for a 34-year-old man they say is considered armed and dangerous after an alleged assault at a motel in Georgina.
York Regional Police say officers were called to a motel in the area of Highway 48 and Thomas Drive around 9:45 p.m. on Monday for reports of an assault.
The following day, police say they issued a search warrant at a unit linked to the suspect and allegedly found ammunition for a firearm, and a quantity of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine.
Police say Kariym White, 34, of Georgina, is wanted for several offences. They have been unable to locate him and are appealing to the public for information on his whereabouts.
“If seen, citizens are urged not to approach him, but to call police immediately,” York Regional Police stated. “He is encouraged to seek legal advice and turn himself in.”
White is wanted on charges of assault, three counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, drug trafficking offences, two counts of breaching his probation, and possessing proceeds of property obtained by crime.
The allegations against the accused have not been tested in court.
