Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was fatally stabbed in Etobicoke on Wednesday night.

The stabbing occurred behind a building on Kendleton Drive, near Kipling Avenue and Albion road, shortly after 9 p.m.

Emergency personnel responded when someone called 911 and reported a group of people assaulting the victim, said police spokesman Const. Victor Kwong.

Paramedics said the man suffered multiple stab wounds and was without vital signs when he was rushed to hospital. He was later pronounced dead.

The victim is believed to be in his late 40s.

Police are looking for suspects.

Kwong said four people may have been involved in the attack and one of the suspects may be a woman.

The stabbing was one of two homicides that occurred in the GTA on Wednesday night.

In Newmarket, one man was killed and a second was wounded in a double stabbing near Davis Drive and Huron Heights Drive.

In another incident, a 52-year-old man suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries when he was stabbed outside a bar near Coxwell Avenue and Gerrard Street East, police said.
