The push is on for Ontario PC leadership candidates to sell party memberships before tomorrow’s deadline.

Anyone looking to vote for the party’s new leader must purchase a membership by 5 p.m. Saturday to be eligible.

Prospective party members can pick up a membership online for $10.

Only three candidates are still vying for the leadership after MPPs Lisa McLeod and Vic Fedeli dropped out of the race earlier this month.

Both McLeod, who represents Nepean-Carlton, and Fedeli, who represents Nipissing, have chosen to throw their support behind MPP Christine Elliott.

Barrie MP Patrick Brown and Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Monte McNaughton are also running to be Tim Hudak’s replacement.

“You may be leading the polls in public opinion but what really matters at the end of the day is how many memberships have you sold,” Elliott told CP24’s Stephen LeDrew Friday afternoon.

The leadership vote will take place in early May and the winner will be announced on May 9.
