Police are seeking a 23-year-old Toronto man wanted for first-degree murder in connection with a 2009 shooting.

The suspect, Robert Owen Cave, is described as black, five-foot-eight, 172 lbs. with short, black hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo on his left forearm that reads "protection" and a tattoo on his right forearm that says "guidance."

The victim, 24-year-old Kevin Phouthonesy, died of gunshot wounds on Nov. 3, 2009 in the area of Keele Street and Finch Avenue West.

Police said at the time that he and his girlfriend were sitting in a car outside a community housing complex at 202 Sentinel Rd. when they were approached by three men at around 11:40 p.m. An argument broke out and someone fired their gun. Phouthonesy fell to the ground as the men fled the scene.

Cave is considered armed and dangerous and police are advising the public not to approach him if spotted and to call 911.
