ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Blizzard conditions in the St. John's area have forced the postponement of Friday night's American Hockey League game between the IceCaps and the Toronto Marlies.

The game has been rescheduled for Sunday afternoon at Mile One Centre, the AHL announced Friday morning.

The area has been battered by a powerful storm that's knocked out power and forced the closure of most services on the East Coast.

Forecasters expected St. John's to receive up to 80 centimetres of snow before the blizzard moves offshore.
