York Regional Police say a 50-year-old woman was seriously hurt when she became caught in a tractor on a farm in the area of King City on Friday evening.

A York Regional Police duty inspector says police were called to stables on Jane Street north of 15th Sideroad in King City at 5:30 p.m. for a report of an injured female.

Police said the victim became caught in a tractor, possibly a hay bailer.

She was conscious and breathing when police arrived and walked on her own power to an ambulance.

An Ornge air ambulance was sent to the scene to transport the victim to the hospital. Her injuries are considered serious but non-life-threatening.
