Motorists in the Barrie region were being urged to drive with caution Monday due to the threat of snow squalls.

Environment Canada issued snow squall warnings for Barrie, Collingwood and Innisfil in the morning as a snow squall developed off Georgian Bay.

Motorists in those areas should be prepared for hazardous driving conditions, including poor visibility in blowing snow, heavy snow and snow accumulation on the roads.

According to Environment Canada, localized snowfall amounts of up to 15 centimetres are likely.

The city of Toronto is not included in any warnings or watches.
