DIEPPE, N.B. - A poll suggests many Canadian voters are receptive to idea of Justin Trudeau as Liberal leader.

The Canadian Press Harris-Decima survey says 36 per cent of those questioned said they would be certain or likely to vote for a Liberal party with Trudeau at the helm.

The poll indicates he would get "significant support" east of Manitoba, with polling numbers of between 40 and 48 per cent in Quebec, Ontario and Atlantic Canada.

Harris-Decima chairman Allan Gregg says Trudeau holds the best prospect of kick starting the Liberals of any of the possible leadership hopefuls.

The poll also suggests that while Trudeau is a threat to the Conservatives, the New Democrats likely have the most to lose from his leadership of the Liberals.

More than one-thousand Canadians were questioned for the poll done late last month.

It's considered accurate within plus or minus 3.1 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.
