Toronto police say they’re “dedicating all the necessary resources to locate and apprehend those responsible” for a double stabbing near a high school in southeast Scarborough on Monday afternoon.
Speaking with the media near the scene, Acting Duty Insp. Todd Jocko said the incident occurred when the two victims and a group of people got into an altercation near Guildwood Parkway and Livingston Road. Sir Wilfred Laurier Collegiate Institute is located just to east of that intersection.
Jocko said police were called to that area at 1:49 p.m. There, officers located two males, who were taken to the hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators said the victims are students at a nearby school, however they noted that the stabbing did not occur on school property.
Police sources tell CP24 that that the victims are a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy. It is not known at this point if they attended the nearby school.
“Multiple” suspects wearing “all black” clothing, fled the scene and remain at-large, police said.
The suspects are also teenagers, and have been identified and are being actively searched for, say police sources.

“We understand how concerning these types of situations can be for students in the area, their parents and families, staff at the school and members of the public people in the area,” said Jocko, who urged anyone with information to contact 43 Division at 416-808-4300 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
Jocko added that they’re “very early” in this investigation, adding at this point he can provide very limited information about what occurred.
He could not say if the victims knew the suspects, nor how many suspects they’re looking for. Jocko was also unable to say if the suspects are students and had no details about the weapon that was used.
“Our investigators are working diligently to piece together exactly what happened, who was involved,” he said.
“We don’t believe that this is a random act. We believe that there was in an altercation between the group of suspects and the victims. … We don’t think there’s any additional risk to the public.”

A man who works in the area told CTV News Toronto earlier today that there was a fight involving about 10 or so young people.
The investigation is ongoing.
